Congratulations are in order for Chamil Fernando who has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Synergetic as of June 2019.

From the ground up
Those who have kept up to date with recent Synergetic news will know that, with the organic growth and the need to evolve the business, Chamil’s star is rapidly on the rise!
A quick snapshot of his career at Synergetic has seen Chamil work his way from the ground up – starting as a Support Consultant in 2007, navigating to Client Relationship Manager in 2017, and landing recently as Chief Operating Officer with his latest promotion.
Chamil has been with Synergetic through thick and thin. His tenacity and passion for client success has seen him at the helm through both calm and stormy weather. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he has driven teams to continuously meet business operational requirements while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
“I always follow two key principles in my work – 1. Look after your staff and 2. Look after your clients. The rest will fall into place.”
A well-rounded leader
Anyone that knows Chamil can testify that this young leader is nothing but deserving. He has been integral to the growth of the organisation both by building great rapport among his colleagues and by facilitating strong client relationships.
Chamil has a rare gift of being both approachable and methodical, which makes him perfect to bridge the demands of leading his team while implementing new business processes and systems. His talent are honed by years of experience working with both our Synergetic clients and by testing out his sound business operational skills in various management roles.
“Synergetic is more than a workplace, it’s a family. It was the best decision I made moving to Synergetic 12 years ago.”
From humbler beginnings
Clearly Chamil’s strengths were not born overnight. Of Sri Lankan descent, his early years were spent studying at St Joseph’s college in Colombo before moving to Australia in 2003. With a strong desire to learn and upskill, Chamil did the ‘hard yards’, walking 2-3 hours a day to catch a bus during his first year of university! The end result was a Bachelor of Business Information Systems from Monash University, so the effort was worth it.
Chamil passion for education is also evident in his recent appointment to the St Joseph’s College, Ferntree Gully School Board.
