2018 sees us celebrating some very big milestones for our organisation—40 years of Computing Directions Australia, 20 years of the Synergetic product and 1 year of the Education Horizons Group.

The Celebrations

Over these 40 years, we have evolved from a ‘one man show’ in a home office, to a company employing over 80 people across 3 states. We’ve been fortunate to have several long-term employees with us as well, some for 10, 20, even 25 years, and times have certainly changed since those early days.

The original support ticketing system was a table on an A4 sheet of paper, shared between all 5 staff members, whereas we now have a dedicated support team of 18 using JIRA ServiceDesk. Trainers used to bring CDs to install Synergetic on-site, whereas now we are able to fully remotely deploy and provision the application. Some staff even recall all 3 employees at the time scrambling to occupy the sole dial-up internet connection in the 90s. Things have come a long way!

A celebration such as this also gives us the chance to reflect and thank our clients who have come on this journey with us—from those who have joined us recently, right through to those who have been with us from the very start. We thank you for your continued support.

With a new decade comes a fresh perspective, and we’ve already got things rolling with our new-look website launched this week, along with an updated, easy-to-use training booking system. That’s just the start… We can’t wait to share many more successful years ahead with you.

    Tim Dawson joins Computing Directions Pty Ltd

  • 1991
    Computing Directions Australia Pty Ltd (CDA) is formed

  • 1993
    Andrew Rose appointed as first employee

  • 1998
    CDA releases SynergyOne

  • 2000
    Tim Dawson appointed Managing Director

  • 2002
    Synergetic launched

  • 2003
    Synergetic launches in the New Zealand market

  • 2004
    Office move from Mount Waverley to Burwood East, with a custom training lab for clients

  • 2009
    Synergetic secures its first clients in Singapore and the Middle East

  • 2010
    Synergetic employs its first interstate staff member in WA

  • 2013
    Synergetic celebrates 200 clients; Office space is extended across 2 buildings; Synergetic is now used in all states and territories across Australia

  • 2014
    Synergetic employs its first NSW-based team member

  • 2015
    Synergetic offices are again extended and refurbished to cater for significant employee growth

  • 2016
    John Lynch retires after 38 years with the company; Agile methodology adopted by Development team; Consulting team formed

  • 2017
    Inaugural Hackathon undertaken; Synergetic Management Systems & SEQTA join forces; Education Horizons Group is formed; WA-based Support team is formed

  • 2018
    Offices now spans across 3 buildings; Account Management team formed; Launch of Client Service Charter; Customer Experience Roadmap developed
